{"id":88,"date":"2021-11-30T16:26:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T16:26:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jenningseminc.com\/?page_id=88"},"modified":"2021-11-30T16:26:24","modified_gmt":"2021-11-30T16:26:24","slug":"phase-i-environmental-site-assessment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tcsny.it\/jenningsplaceholder\/phase-i-environmental-site-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cPhase I\u201d Environmental Site Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Objective: To evaluate whether past or current activities have resulted in conditions that could present a potential environmental liability upon the continued use of this property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scope of Services*<br><\/strong><em>Initial Review:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Review of information indicating past and present uses of the site<\/li><li>Review environmental regulatory activity connected with the site<\/li><li>Conduct reconnaissance of structure or related property<\/li><li>Determine past and present use of adjacent land<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Site Inspection:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Visual observation of current practices at the site<\/li><li>Determination of impacts of surrounding land uses, such as:<ul><li>PCB-containing equipment<\/li><li>Underground and aboveground petroleum and chemical storage tanks<\/li><li>Hazardous waste<\/li><li>Material storage and handling procedures<\/li><li>Incidents of spills<\/li><li>Water and wastewater<\/li><li>Air emissions<\/li><li>Solid waste<\/li><li>Sumps, drums or containers<\/li><li>Drywells, irrigation wells, injection wells, abandoned wells<\/li><li>Waste disposal activities<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Interview appropriate personnel regarding details of past activities as listed above<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Background Inspection:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Check state and federal regulatory listings (i.e., CERCLIS and the state list of inactive disposal areas) to assess whether the site may be subject to current or future regulatory action<\/li><li>Contact regional office of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and local government agencies as necessary to establish whether regulated activities have taken place at the site<\/li><li>If appropriate, inquire with local municipal offices to determine the status of past activities at the site and for Freedom of Information Letter (FOIL) requests<\/li><li>Review historical aerial photographs for an indication of past land use at the site and adjacent properties<\/li><li>Review historic city directories and\/or topographic maps, as appropriate<\/li><li>Other avenues: surrounding land use and activities may suggest other avenues to follow regarding past site conditions and use, and will be pursued as appropriate to achieve project goals<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*Our Scope of Services is consistent with the American Society for Testing and Materials\u2019 (2000) \u201cE1527-00 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment Process\u201d and \u201cE1528-00 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Transaction Screen Process\u201d (Completion of \u201cTransaction Screen Questionnaire\u201d) which reflects the prevailing standard of practice in the industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Objective: To evaluate whether past or current activities have resulted in conditions that could present a potential environmental liability upon the continued use of this property.
